  • 1 pound (450g) spaghetti noodles
  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (about 24 ounces) of your favorite marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional: chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Warm Up the Oven: Warm up your oven to 190°C (375°F).

Cook the Spaghetti: Follow the directions on the package to cook the spaghetti noodles until they are al dente. Remove the water and set it aside.

Heat the olive oil in a big pan over medium-low heat. This will help you make the meat sauce. Add the chopped garlic and diced onion. Sauté for about two to three minutes, until the onion is soft and smells good. Use a spoon to break up the ground beef or Italian sausage before adding it to the pan. Cook until it is browned and done. Get rid of any extra fat.

Mix Noodles and Sauce: Put the cooked spaghetti noodles and the tomato sauce in a big bowl and mix them together. Mix the noodles until they are covered all over.

Lay Out the Dish: Put a thin layer of the spaghetti and sauce mix on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Then put some of the cooked meat sauce on top. Put some mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top of the sauce. Do it again, and this time put a layer of cheese on top.

Bake: Put aluminum foil over the baking dish and put it in a hot oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese melts and bubbles.

Take it out of the oven, take off the foil, and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. If you want, you can add chopped fresh basil or parsley as a garnish. Enjoy while hot!

You can change this recipe to suit your tastes by adding your favorite herbs, veggies, spices, or spices to the sauce or by switching out the meats and cheeses. Have fun with your tasty baked spaghetti!
